4 Alternatives to Artificial Tanning

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

Stop hitting the tanning beds.  If you don’t think they’re bad for you then read Glenna Kohl’s story.  Here are four alternatives to getting bronzed under artificial UV rays:

1.  Sunless Tanning Lotions

Bronzing lotions include a wide variety of skin shades, as well as prices. You will be able to find a color that suite your skin tones and allows you to have a natural glow.

Best places to get these: Target, Rite Aid, CVS, Stop & Shop

2.  Airbrushing or Spray Tanning

Spray tan’s benefits include a very quick application time of about 10 minutes as well as expert evenness. The tan will last about one week. The cost of getting a spray tan is less than buying a week’s worth of sessions at your local tanning salon.

3.  Towelettes

Like the sunless tanning lotions, tanning towels are a less messy way to get a great tan. You can purchase individually wrapped towelettes that you simple use and then throw out for each use.

Best places to get these: Target, Rite Aid, CVS, Stop & Shop

4.  Cosmetics

Bronzer is a great way to provide that sun kissed glow to your face. With several different options that range in colors and prices, you are sure to find a makeup that best suites you and allows you to have a natural tan that easily comes off at night

Popular brands: Bare Essentials, CoverGirl, Maybelline, Clinque, Rimmel
