10 Urban Dictionary Terms to Spruce Up Your Vocabulary

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

It’s safe to say that we have all fact-checked Urban Dictionary at some point, whether to look up a term from Cards Against Humanity, or see what our names REALLY meant (because that was, like, super cool in middle school for whatever reason).  But not everyone may realize that there is a “random” option that will bless you with a random term.  It’s dangerous, it’s dirty, and it’s definitely not a website to frequent with your grandma/boss/little sister, so we did it for you.  Here are some of the safer, but still comical (and maybe even usable) slang terms that someone thought of at some point.

1.

Honestly, this one makes sense, and is probably applicable to the main audience of UD users (middle schoolers).

2.

LOL we just liked this because it’s a true 2006 relic.  Thank you, UD, for shaking up the years on “random” mode so we could relive history a little.

3.

This one is a little too relatable for comfort..

4.

Uhm. We get that it’s SUPPOSED to be a “compliment”, but being compared to food is a little strange.

5.

Yep. Same. Totally cool. (What???)

6.

We knew going into this that, at some point, our childhood would probably be ruined, but, WOW.

7.

This sounds like something only a 12 year old boy would say.

8.

This is actually true. Also, alternately known as anyone from Pennsylvania.

9.

Oops, didn’t know there was a term for that one… (but also, note how 2008 this is.  “Email bail” has a better ring than “text bail.”)

10.

And with that, we knew it was time to end our quest and probably do something more productive.
