10 Unconventional Things We’re Thankful For Today

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

As we start Thanksgiving Day, we all give thanks for our friends and family. Let’s take a moment to give thanks for some more unconventional things for which we should express our appreciation.

1. Our Celeb Crushes

Let’s be real – the existence of the Hemsworth brothers or Ryan Gosling has definitely turned a bad day into a better one. We thank them for being beautiful.

2. Dunkin Dounts

Our mornings are almost never complete without a large iced coffee from our friendly neighborhood Dunkin barista! We thank him/her today for keeping us awake through our morning classes.

3. Instagram

If we don’t Instagram a photo of our Thanksgiving meal, did we really eat it? We thank Instagram for allowing us to show people how great our lives really are.

4. Our Beds

This one needs no explanation. Sure, we’ve all missed our families, but the best part of being home is getting to sleep in our own beds again.  We thank our bed for never changing.

5. Our Pets

After the long drive home, what’s better than an excited hug from our four-legged best friends? We thank them for always being there for us.

6. One Direction

Please see Reason #1 – beautiful and talented.

7. Nutella

We thank Nutella for making us believe we’re still eating healthily even when we cover strawberries and bananas in chocolate.

8. Puberty

One glance at our middle school photos is all it takes for us to start appreciating puberty.

9. Education

On a more serious note, at Bryant, we’re very lucky to study at the one of the top 10 business schools in the country. Sometimes we’re too stressed about our 8 AM classes or group projects to give proper thanks for the incredible university that we attend. Take time today to reflect on all the benefits earned from the four years we spend here.

10. Her Campus

What better way to spend our Thanksgiving Break than reading about holiday dorm decorations or figuring out which Thanksgiving-related episodes to binge-watch on Netflix? We thank HC for always entertaining us.

So collegiettes, what are you thankful for? Let us know in the comments below!
