This past Saturday morning, my roommates and I left the Rev’d Cycling studio absolutely famished. Initially, we tried to grab a quick brunch at Salted Slate in Wayland Square, but unfortunately, the popular brunch spot was full. As we left the restaurant disheartened and hungry, we stumbled upon the Wayland Square Diner.

The charming diner and its friendly staff happily took us in, seating my roommates and me at their slightly retro breakfast counter. The breakfast and lunch menus were vast, with just about any classic diner meal you could imagine. Although tempted to order a monstrous stack of blueberry pancakes, I opted for the age-old diner order, two eggs any style with sausage links, home fries, and two pieces of toast. One of my roommates ordered the eggs benedict, and the other decided to get the french toast.

Although the diner was packed with patrons, our food came relatively quickly. My over-medium eggs were cooked to perfection, and the sausage links were absolutely delicious. Much to my liking, our waiter also provided us with various ketchup and hot sauces on the side. My roommates thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. Luckily for me, they both felt generous and let me try a bite of theirs. I can assert that both the eggs benedict and french toast were delicious. I was even more impressed with the diner when our bill came. Restaurants in Providence are often quite pricey, but the Wayland Square Diner was shockingly affordable.

Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Wayland Square Diner for a Saturday or Sunday breakfast with your friends. You won’t be disappointed!
