While it may feel like the semester is only beginning, spring break is fast approaching. The two biggest pros in planning early are: finding more affordable stays and flights and having something to look forward to when you’re drowning in midterms and assignments! Coordinating and arranging a trip for you and your friends may seem stressful, but these tips will make your spring break planning experience easy and fun.

First things first, pick a destination. If you’re hoping to go somewhere warm to escape the Providence weather, your options range from Mexico to Providenciales. If you’re hoping to catch one last glimpse of snow, the slopes await! The best place to narrow down your options is CN Traveller, and their website even features an “Inspiration” section to get you in the traveling mood.

Once you have selected your destination, you must find a place to stay. Airbnb and Expedia are always reliable options, but if you’re looking for something more budget-friendly, Hostels.com provides fantastic suggestions. Staying at a hostel allows you and your friends to meet other spring breakers!

Finding flights can get frustrating fast. But if you use Studentuniverse, any fears will disappear. This website caters to affordable flights for students. As long as you prove that you are currently in school, they will provide incredible rates on worldwide flights. This website will also help you find hotels and even has a blog in case you need more travel inspiration.

Once you have your flights and a place to stay, the exciting part begins: picking activities! From discovering local cuisine to finding the ideal beach, you need to research to get the most out of your trip. CN Traveller is a great place to start, but if you track down a local, that would be even better! Brown is a big school; people love talking about their hometowns/countries. Find someone from your destination and get their recs ASAP. No one knows a place like a local.

And that’s it! Whether you opt for an exotic adventure or a stay-cation, Spring Break is the ideal time to relax and spend with friends, so no matter what, remember to have fun!
