7 Ways to Stay Warm this Winter

It’s that time of year again – the oppressive presence of daylight savings in our lives has mercilessly stolen our precious hours of sunlight and vitamin D, and the prospect of finals after a bit of rest and relaxation makes the Thanksgiving break a curt little tease. As the nights get longer, the days get progressively colder, so here are a few ways to stay warm and, therefore, happy, this winter:

1) Wrap Up – To state the obvious, layer up. There’s nothing like a wonderfully cosy sweater and big coat to protect you from the winter winds, so make sure you don’t leave the house scantily clad or the only things you’ll end up with are goosebumps and a cold.

2) Drink… – Hot drinks that is. What better excuse for a hot chocolate or delicious pumpkin-spiced latte than warming away the winter chills?!

3) Keep Moving – the more stationary you are the colder you will be. Simple as that.

4) Cuddle – Body heat is a brilliant way to keep the warmth trapped. Besides, everyone loves a cuddle.

5) Eat spicy foods – Not only will this keep your blood boiling for a good while after eating but it will do wonders for your metabolism as well!

6) Turn up the heat – yes, gas bills are the worst but its so worth it.

7) Dry your hair – Wet hair is a recipe for a health disaster.
