23 Things Brown Students Are Looking Forward to (& Will Do Immediately When Lockdown Ends)!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Brown chapter.

Right about now, we’re all just trying to get through our classes and not be driven crazy by our families. Free time is being filled exclusively with puzzles, Netflix and cooking, and it’s devoid of any of the usual activities that involve leaving our homes.

Although we’re currently living in a dystopian nightmare, most of us are holding out hope that the day when we’re released from the captivity of quarantine will be in the not-so-distant future.

In anticipation of that beautiful day, I asked a few Brown students to let me know what they are most looking forward to doing when it’s no longer illegal to step outside for more than the essentials.

Despite it not being healthy to dwell on what we can’t control, with quarantine end dates being one of those things, one thing to remember is that these extreme measures will not last forever.

Therefore, although it may be sad to think about what we’ve lost during these months, it’s also a little happy to look forward to some of our favorite outside-our-home non-solitary activities.

Here’s a list of some of those things we can’t wait to do again:

  1.  “Hugging”

  2. “Parties”

  3.  “TRAVELLING”

  4.  “Da club”

  5. “Going out to eat”

  6. “Spending time with friends”

  7.  “Putting together ‘fits’”

  8. “Wearing real clothes out”

  9. “Going to a coffee shop to finally have a cappuccino”

  10. “Seeing my boyfriend”

  11. “Wearing shoes for longer than an hour”

  12. “I can’t wait to go to the beach”

  13. “To go to parks!”

  14. “Honestly, sex”

  15. “Theatre”

  16. “Art museums!!!”

  17. “The farmer’s market”

  18. “Going to get an ice cream cone”

  19. “Live music!!”

  20. “Not being afraid of everyone walking on the street!”

  21. “Social interaction with people my age”

  22. “Festivals”

  23. “Bars”

Aside from the above, high on everyone’s list was Brown. Excitement to go back to school was featured for every single student asked, and, honestly, I couldn’t agree more.

Fingers crossed that we are all reunited in September, ready to flaunt our newfound knowledge of the quickest way to finish a 1000-piece puzzle, share the best recipe for a killer sourdough and impress with a character analysis for each of Netflix’s original TV shows.
