Teamwork! Girl power continues as these Florida women team up to wash laundry of lineman working to restore power! I absolutely love when people come together as one to do great deeds! I live in Florida, so all this is personal because I when through Irma and the wrath of it. So, let’s go deeper into this updated event:
This took place in Sebring, Florida in just as Hurricane Irma has destroyed homes from all over the Sunshine State, it has also laid the foundation for incredible acts of kindness from Floridians. Getting to the point of a Facebook post showed one such act from over the weekend where more than two dozen women stood in line at Sebring International Raceway to collect the laundry of linemen working non-stop to return power to the state.
A wonderful woman in the name of, Jennifer Taylor Koukos posted the picture of the women waiting to take bundles of dirty clothes and wash them in their homes for those who have tirelessly given up their time to get electricity up and running after Irma. “One lineman asked me what those ladies were standing in line for,: Koukos wrote. “When I told him they were waiting to be given laundry, with a look of sheer and disbelief he said, “You gotta be kidding me.”
Wow! Thousands upon thousands of utility workers have come from as far away as Canada to get Florida back to normal. Koukos ended her post, which has already been shared 20,829 times, with the hashtag #FloridaStrong.
