Her Campus Hosts Obstacle Course for Women’s Month

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Broward chapter.

On Thursday March 16 men at Broward College learned exactly what it means when people say “Girls can do everything and they do it in high heels.”

As part of a series of events, Her Campus and Broward College put together a He fro She relay race. In this race, guys completed by running through an obstacle course, while wearing high heels.

The race took place in the breezeway at 12:30 pm. Students were encouraged to sign up before and during the date of the event.

Female students also participated in the race by throwing water balloon at the men as they ran. While humorous and fun the message of the race remained clear. There’s absolutely nothing girly about high heels, absolutely nothing wrong with men expressing femininity and absolutely nothing easy about either of those things.

Among cheers and hoots of laughter the winners were called out at the end of the event. The first place winner walked away with a bluetooth speaker, while the second place got a fitbit. Third place received a seahawks bundle bag.

This event was the last in a series meant to highlight women’s history month and hopefully bridged the gap between the sexes.

Those guys won’t be forgetting what it’s like to have to run in high heels anytime soon, that’s for sure.
