Shopping for jeans when you’re short can be a testing retail experience and while there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to demin, so here are the petite jeans that you need in your wardrobe. Whether it’s fitted and high-waisted or flared or cropped. Take a look, and find the perfect pair that works for you, especially; if you are under 5’4.

Boyfriend Jeans

The key to pulling off boyfriend jeans when you have a petite frame is to make sure they are still slim fit (but not too slim!). A mid-rise waist and turn-up details are the classic hallmarks of boyfriend jeans and are the perfect canvas for your weekend looks.

Straight Leg

Straight leg jeans flatter petite frames if they have a high raise waist as this lengthens the legs giving the illusion of height. An extra style tip is to roll up your straight leg jeans so that they sit above the ankle showing off your legs at their slimmest part. Add some statement shoes (no high heels necessary) and you’ll be good to go.

Skinny Jeans

A pair of skinny jeans are a wardrobe staple and once you find the perfect pair, you’ll know. Choosing a pair with added stretch will stop the dreaded bagging at the knees and will also make sure you can move comfortably in them all day. A black pair that hit just at the ankle with a structured blazer is the ultimate for smart casual dressing.

Mom Jeans

The fashion set’s favorite demin style is still going strong since bursting on to the high street back in 2012. The slightly 80’s vibe means these jeans have retro appeal. They’ll look just as good with a silk blouse as they will with a distressed T-shirt. The high waist and slightly loose cut is forever flattering on every body shape.

Boot Cut

Boot cut demin fell out of favor for a while, but with it’s major wearability and super-flattering cut, it’s back in fashion. The slight flare will balance out wide hips. Worn over wedges or platform sandals your legs will look like they go on forever. Pair yours with a crisp white shirt for a look that will take you from desk to dinner.

Flared

Flares have made a comeback over the past few seasons but not as you probably know them. Forget floor sweeping bell bottoms and instead opt for modern cropped kick flares. They work in the same way as the more traditional styles, by balancing out your hips. So they’re perfect if you’re pear shaped.
