If you either live in a state/country where there are such things as all the four seasons, or if you live in a tropical state/country (i.e. Florida) that gets their coldfronts around this time of year, then you want to create a campfire to stay cozy warm or to make one of those classical smores that everybody loves so much.

Here are some tricks if you want to get a little bit creative with your campfire, just to give it some personality.

Borax Toss in a bit of Borax (sodium tetraborate) for green flames.

Water Softner Salt

Chuck in some water softner salt for purple flames.

Table Salt

A dash of table salt (sodium chloride) will give you deeper orange flames.

Epsom Salts

Not just for baths, epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) makes for nice white flames.

Flour

Just a pinch of flour tossed will make your fire flare up….mostly. Kind rhymes?

Sugar

Throw in some sugar for sparks and little explosions.

*Overall, have fun!*
