Toni Morrison at Harvard

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Brandeis chapter.

On Monday April 11th, I was fortunate enough to score a couple of tickets to hear the one and only Toni Morrison lecture at Harvard. Her lecture was on Narrating the Other where she quoted and discussed themes in her novel Beloved. She generously answered questions from the audience regarding her writing, joy, and who she will be voting for in the 2016 election (it’s Hillary Clinton!). It was an honor and a joy to be in Dr. Morrison’s presence and listen to her wise and beautiful words.

I am a double major in Anthropology and International/Global Studies with a minor in Creativity, the Arts, and Social Transformation at Brandeis University. As a native Southern Californian, I have a born passion for avocados and an innate dread of cold weather. In my free time I love cooking (with avocados of course), drawing and writing.
