HC Senior Send-Off Interview

Dylan Schlesinger

HC: Best Brandeis memory:

DS: Being a midyear. I had a great group. I still talk to my midyear friends. We just had so much fun together whether it was in Sherman or midnight Tuesday dance parties in the common room. I am forever grateful to the midyears for making me feel so at home.

HC: What part of senior week are you looking forward to the most?

DS: Kickball tourney. I am hoping my team wins, we are the underdogs due to the draft that started freshman year…

HC: What are your plans post-grad?

DS: I will be going to law school starting the fall of 2015. I do not know where just yet… but somewhere. Hopefully a school in New York.

HC: Where do you think you will be in five years?

DS: I hope to have completed law school and on my way to being a successful entertainment lawyer.

HC: What is one piece of advice you have for incoming Brandeis students?

DS: Branch out and stop caring. I know this is really hard to do when you first get here but so many benefits come from truly letting go at this school.

HC: What is your favorite meal at Sherman?

DS: Tunafish with Ruffle chips.

HC: Favorite place on campus?

DS: Gosman.

Emily Beker

HC: Best Brandeis memory:

EB: My best Brandeis memory would have to be watching Levin Ballroom fill up for this past year’s Liquid Latex show. It was incredible to see how much love and support Brandeis students have for their peers who organize and participate in the very Brandeisian, once in a lifetime experience. It was amazing being a part of the people who organized the 15th year of Latex.

HC: What part of senior week are you looking forward to the most?

EB: I am really excited about just spending time with people without other commitments, classes, and expectations. I think all of us are ready to spend time doing nothing and just enjoying each other’s company.

HC: What are your plans post-grad?

EB: Ideally I will be teaching somewhere as an elemetary school assistant teacher! I am also starting graduate school in Cambridge. I am ready to live in Boston now and enter the real world.

HC: Where do you think you will be in five years?

EB: I will hopefully be teaching in my own classroom somewhere in the Boston area (fingers crossed)!

HC: What is one piece of advice you have for incoming Brandeis students?

EB: Find ways to get involved in the right niche. There are so many places you can find a space that you belong in and so many organizations you can join. Actually attend club meetings your first few semesters at Brandeis!

HC: What is your favorite meal at Sherman?

EB: Honestly, I don’t ever eat at Sherman but if I had to pick a meal I would have to say their breakfast on the weekends. The major plus is that it opens before 11:30.

HC: Favorite place on campus?

EB: I would have to say Lower Green Room. There is just enough socializing happening there but also you can get work done. I am also totally a Starbucks fan so having that within walking distance from the cozy couches is a total plus.

Esther Lee

HC: Best Brandeis memory?

EL: I have two, and they’re both when I met my best friends April and Cat during my first year here. We decided we were going to live in Ridgewood together in our senior year, and we made it happen!

HC: What part of senior week are you looking forward to the most?

EL: I’m looking forward to spending time with my friends and going to the beach.

HC: What are your plans post-grad?

EL: I just accepted a job offer at a startup called Bauble Bar in NYC.

HC: Where do you think you will be in five years?

EL: Based on my post-grad plans, I’m probably going to be in NYC but hopefully I’ll get the chance to be in L.A., away from the cold and closer to Disneyland.

HC: What is one piece of advice you have for incoming Brandeis students?

EL: Fall in love with yourself. Learn about who you are and what you’re passionate about. Be kind to yourself as you make mistakes along the way.

HC: What is your favorite meal at Sherman?

EL: I think I liked the grilled chicken.

HC: Favorite place on campus?

EL: The Info Booth at the SCC.
