Name: Heather DeNoble
Year: 2018
Hometown: Newton, MA
Major/Minor: Education Studies major with an Elementary Ed minor
Her Campus: What attracted you to Brandeis?
Heather DeNoble: I was attracted to Brandeis because I wanted a school where I felt a strong sense of community, like I had felt at my small private high school. I wanted the opportunities to get to know professors and other students, and of course I was hoping for a very friendly place!
HC: What activities are you involved in on campus?
HD: Well besides Her Campus, I am going to be an OL for Midyear Orientation (yay midyears!), I’m in the training process for becoming an admissions ambassador, and I work off campus in a local after school program.
HC: What has been the best part of sophomore year so far?
HD: I feel like I’ve gotten a feel for how Brandeis “works” now, so I was able to get involved in a bunch of things I had be interested in last year, but too overwhelmed by all the newness to try.
HC: What’s your advice for incoming first-years?
HD: It may not seem like it, but everyone has a hard time at some point. Nobody has just met their best friends after two weeks, so do not feel down on yourself if you still haven’t met your new best friend or if you miss home—it happens to everyone, even if they don’t show it.
HC: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
HD: That’s scary! Well, I’d love to be a second grade teacher in a local school, and hopefully I’d be married by then and maybe even have kids. Oh gosh, this is really weird to think about!
Quick Facts:
Favorite TV Show: Gilmore Girls, hands down.
Favorite Quote: “And though she be but little she is fierce”–Shakespeare
Favorite Spot on Campus: I love to spend time hanging out with a big group of friends in Upper just chatting and laughing
Favorite Song of the Moment: Anything country. I’ve been really into Sam Hunt lately.
Favorite Boston Attraction: This is so hard. I really love the energy and spirit any Boston sports game, but I also think everyone who lives in Boston must take duck tour at least once. They are so awesome!
Role Model: I not-so-secretly want to be Taylor Swift.
Prized Possession: I interned in a kindergarten classroom over my midyear semester, and when I left the class made a book for me. Each child drew a picture and wrote (in their best kindergarten handwriting) something that they wanted to thank me for. I love looking at it whenever need a little boost.
