Her Campus: Why did you decide to go to Brandeis?
Alisha Steindecker: I liked the feel of the campus – everyone seemed friendly.
HC: How did you first get involved with Her Campus?
AS: I have wanted to be a journalist for awhile and writing fun articles for Her Campus is a good mix to what I usually write about, like current affairs.
HC: What else are you involved in on campus?
AS: I’m a research assistant at Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism, I contribute to the Justice, and I’m a sister of DPhiE.
HC: Why do you write for Her Campus?
AS: I like writing and want to be a journalist!
HC: What is your favorite part about Brandeis?
AS: My friends!
HC: What is something you wish you could’ve done at campus that you ended up not doing?
AS: I wish I was part of student events.
HC: If you could say something to your freshman self what would it be?
AS: Look at everything with an open mind and life will be a lot easier.
HC: What do you want to do after Brandeis?
AS: My dream job is to work for the NY Times, so eventually, that’s what I want to do.
