Her Campus: What are you involved with on campus?

Lilah Zohar: I am the Head CA of Charles River and the Mods (aka ModsRiver), I do layout and BTalks for the Justice, I was the Gala Chair for this year’s Chabad Gala and I designed and starred in a piece for Liquid Latex. I was an OL, in Vagina Monologues last year and in Rather Be Giraffes too if we’re talking about past stuff.

HC: How long have you been on the Justice for? What do you do?

LZ: I joined spring semester of my junior year and I’ve loved it ever since. I interview and do layout.

HC: What has been your favorite part about it? Hardest part?

LZ: I love being creative and talking to people, so the Justice lets me put that in my weekly schedule! I get to meet random people either in the SCC or library on a weekly basis asking them their opinions about campus life. Sometimes it’s hard to find people to give an answer or want to have their picture in the paper, but it isn’t too hard. I’m pretty persuasive :)

HC: What made you want to get involved in Liquid Latex?

LZ: I figured it was the only time where being partially naked on a stage is socially acceptable and the fact that it’s a unique experience you can only find at Brandeis.

HC: Tell me about that experience.

LZ: I reached out to the e-board last year about getting involved and I got to be a part of a belly-dancing piece. I was nervous because I don’t know how to dance but it ended up being one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had at Brandeis. It isn’t just about nudity, it’s about using the body as a canvas to showcase the incredible characters and talent on this campus. As I was ripping off my paint after my first performance, I knew that I had to design my own piece for the following year and that’s exactly what I did! (I’m still glowing about its success.)

HC: What has been a major challenge of being a CA? What has been most rewarding?

LZ: Breaking parties is definitely the hardest part. I was in Ridgewood last year and I’m in Charles River (Grad) this year so it’s come with the territory. My favorite part has been the relationships I’ve made with my residents over the past two years. Oh and giving out free food, of course.

HC: What is left on your senior year bucket list?

LZ: I’ve done a good job of hitting up a lot of the things I’ve wanted to do at Brandeis, but the classic skinny dipping in the reservoir might need to happen…

HC: What are your plans post graduation?

LZ: I don’t have a job just yet, but I’m going to be in New York City for sure.
