I try to work out every day of the week here at school in order to stay in shape and have some time away from my schoolwork. However, the semester is finally kicking off, and I already find myself sick and tired of my boring routine of elliptical training and running on the treadmill as my source of exercise at the gym. So this week I decided to try one of the great fitness classes Brandeis offers because I have not really taken advantage of them since I got here. I chose to go to a class called “Luscious Legs and Arm Candy,” which is a one-hour, high-intensity cardio workout.
I think of myself as a pretty athletic person, but this class really kicked my butt—in a good way, of course. The class consisted of nonstop choreography with all different kinds of moves, like kickboxing, and it had great, high-energy music to go along with it. The instructor was also had a lot of energy and showed me how to use the moves to get the best workout I could. I found the class to be a great workout that worked muscles I don’t always engage when I’m using cardio machines.
So if you’re like me and sick of using the same machines every day at the gym, I highly recommend you try this class or any of the other classes Brandeis offers, like cardio-kickboxing and yoga. You can check the fitness class schedule at http://www.brandeisjudges.com/recreation/group-fitness.
