Extended C-Store Hours

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Brandeis chapter.

In case you haven’t noticed, there has been some recent controversy over the C-Store hours. Students have been petitioning Brandeis to keep the C-Store open until 2 AM on weekends, in addition to the existing Ollie’s diner. Well, guess what? Brandeis is listening and last weekend you may have noticed that even when Rumba was in full swing at 2AM, so was the C-Store. These past few weeks Brandeis has been experimenting with “C-Store extended hours.”

Personally I was so happy to be able to walk into the C-Store at one in the morning and grab some much needed late night munchies, and I was very surprised to see the C-Store just as full at one in the morning as it is during the typical lunch rush hour.

Clearly Brandeis students are responding positively to the “extended hours” and upon talking to fellow students, I did not get a single response that was anti longer C-Store hours. Senior Max Notis comments, “Brandeis should definitely make these extended hours permanent. They would make a killing. No one would bother with Chinese food. Einstein’s should be open later too. Either way they (Brandeis) needs something more than Ollie’s for late night food. The school doesn’t have the capacity for the demand of food late at night.”

And with this, I totally agree. Students need a place to eat late at night. Keeping the C-Store open would provide food for the late night partiers and the late night studiers over the weekend, as well as, turn a huge profit in doing so.
