A Comprehensive Conglomeration of Study Music Playlists in One Article

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Brandeis chapter.

Let’s face it: study sessions can be brutal. Granted, I love learning, but spending the day locked away in the dungeon staring at a screen or textbook can be boring at times if it’s a subject that you’re not in love with. One of the things that have personally gotten me through these sometimes gruelling study sessions is music, and as a music fanatic, it’s only right that I share a few of my 85 playlists on Spotify with you (I’m not joking). Below are some study jams separated into different playlists to fit all of your music preferences, with more songs that will be added over time (click the image to access the playlist on Spotify):

Please be aware that some songs may contain explicit language and/or themes; please use your discretion! Thank you!

Classical

Classical music is one of the best types to study to, due to how soothing it is. Although this is kind of a baby playlist, more songs will be added shortly, as there are so many different kinds and eras of classical music! Classical music has honestly been slept on, but hopefully this will help to spark inspiration (and joy ;) )!

Low-key Alt-pop

If you’re in the mood for something a little more laid-back and quirky, here’s a mix of “Alternative/Pop” (that actually turned out to be more alt-indie with some pop mixed in… whoops!). This is much broader, so it’s much harder to put a general vibe on this list other than chill and laid-back, perfect for studying outside!

Chill Rap/RnB/Beats

Lastly, what I think will be the most popular! The genre of Hip-Hop as a whole is perhaps the most popular in the United States right now; with its rhythm and beats and lyricism, what’s not to love? I myself also appreciate a good banger, but for studying, I wanted to choose some much more low-key songs that you can actually *study* to. Unsurprisingly, I got lucky and found a bunch from my library and the wider Spotify arsenal.

Happy studying!
