This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Brandeis chapter and does not reflect the views of Her Campus.

We sat down with HC’s Asya Bashina to inquire more about her busy lifestyle! Asya told us all about her role at Her Campus, her “Style Guru” position at College Fashionista and even gave us some tips on how to take it easy in the fast lane!

HC: Tell me about your involvement in College Fashionista?
AB: I am a fashion blogger and Style Guru at College Fashionista. Basically, I find fashionable people at Brandeis – and yes, they do exist – and I take pictures of them. Then I post the pictures up online and comment on their style and where to find it for cheap! I also promote cool fashion events happening around the city involving College Fashionista. Right now, I organizing an event at Juicy Couture on Newbury Street on March 24 at 5:30pm with my co-blogger Amy Melser, who also writes fro Her Campus.

HC:Can you explain a little more about the site?
AB: College Fashionista is basically like Satorialist for college students. It takes street fashion and translates to a college campus setting. Like Her Campus, college fashionista has bloggers from different colleges in the US and the UK who blog daily about cool trends that they see everyday at school. It is fashion for the college mindset and budget.

HC: What are your other involvements?
AB: Well, funny you should ask, I’m pretty involved everywhere. I have an internship at a start-up, I’m managing director of Free Play Theatre Cooperative, I’m an Associate Editor for the Brandeis Economic Finance Review, I work in the Pepperberg Parrot Lab, volunteer at the Health Psychology Lab, and I am the Executive Editor fo the Her Campus page. I do a lot and sometimes I don’t realize it, but it pays off at the end of the day. I also have plenty of time to relax and be with friends.

HC: You are HC’s executive editor, what does that entail?
AB: As executive editor, I go through the articles one last time before they are published and then I upload them onto the site. I also write a few pieces occasionally and help with logistics. I am Abi’s wing-girl.

HC: What do you do to de-stress?

AB: The best thing, hands down, for de-stressing is spending time with your closest friends. Don’t spend time with people who cause drama, be with friends who make you feel good. This helps set the tone for your day, week, semester, and year. I also watch a lot of TV shows and make sure to sleep. You just have to attend events at school. If you love theatre, go to a show and talk to the production staff afterwards. Go to meetings and go to E-Board meetings. Stay after the meeting and ask about how you can get further involved. The only way to get involved is to exert yourself and show people you are interested in being involved with their work/cause. The same goes for jobs, clubs, friends, anything really.

HC: What advice would you give to people who want to get more involved?

AB: You just have to attend events at school. If you love theatre, go to a show and talk to the production staff afterwards. Go to meetings and go to E-Board meetings. Stay after the meeting and ask about how you can get further involved. The only way to get involved is to exert yourself and show people you are interested in being involved with their work/cause.
