Trending Spring And Summer Fashion

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bradley U chapter.

We finally made it to spring and I am sure we all cannot wait for summer when we can go to festivals, bonfires or the beach! Here is a guide to stay up to date on trending spring and summer fashion.

Clothing Cutouts

I have seen more and more one-pieces, shirts and pants with cutouts that add a little spice to the outfit. I already have a dress with one on the chest and it is super cute! I think this is a great idea and will catch people’s eye, especially when you’re tired of wearing the same old shirt or crop top outside when the weather is nice. Just watch out for those gnarly tan lines…

halter tops

Halter tops have always been present, but there are more and more options around that can also add a fun feature to your outfits. Something as simple as changing a neckline in a shirt will be great for going to the city. There are also options for halter pantsuits and dresses that I may have to invest in soon that will be great for a fancy rooftop dinner!

Bright colors

I am so excited that brighter colors are coming back in style. I have always envied people who grew up in the 70s because they had so many fun patterns and colors that honestly looked amazing. I just want to walk through town with a highlighter pink jacket like I own the place. This trend would also be great for the spring and summer when you’re looking to wear something light and breezy.

low rise??

Okay… this will take me a while to jump on board. I was super into the high-rise trend because I thought the jeans and leggings looked amazing with crop tops and sweaters. I also cringed a little bit at myself and my older siblings when we look back at our young photos and see lovely low-rise jeans and our peace sign shirts. I may not pull it off but if it’s something you like then go for it!

Feathers and fringe

This is probably my favorite rising trend because who doesn’t love a little texture to your outfit? Now I may not go full 20s flapper, but I am definitely keeping an open mind about it. My roommate recently bought a white feather crop jacket to go over a crop top and it looks amazing! Again, consider feathers or fringe if your outfit for the day needs a little “pizzazz”.
