In case you missed it, Taylor Swift is rumored to be going on tour during the summer of 2023! Since the announcement of her newest album, Midnights, coming out October 21st, there has been speculation about whether she will finally be back on the road visiting all over the world.

The rumors began when a popular Twitter account, @concertleaks, posted claiming to have information that Taylor has booked a few stadiums around the United States for 2023. Months went by with no announcement or further confirmation until recently. PopBase reported a confirmation of the rumors, stating that tickets for this tour should be going on sale sometime in November 2022.

Now all of this is great news for us Swifties, but what can we expect and how much will it cost? Since COVID-19 hit, Taylor couldn’t tour for her album Lover, and since quarantine, she will have released Folklore, Evermore, Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version), and Midnights without touring. Before announcing Midnights, many Taylor fans speculated she would just combine her tour for Lover, Folklore, and Evermore, but with the addition of Midnights, it’s hard to predict what songs she will perform.

After taking a look at her prior tours and setlists, it seems as though on average she designates 70% of the setlist to songs from the album the tour is named after. If she names this upcoming tour “Midnights,” it is safe to say she will probably perform a majority of songs from that album, with the additional hits from the rest of the music she has released since the last time she toured. It is also likely that she will perform a few medleys combining songs so she can squeeze in more songs. In her past tours, she has a pattern of bringing out guests to perform covers and special songs that aren’t normally on the setlist, and it is likely she will bring this trend back for this tour as well.

All of this is incredibly exciting news, but you better hold on to your money, because this tour won’t be cheap. If Taylor is indeed playing stadiums, the ticket prices for her prior tours are not a good sign. Pit tickets for her last two tours were anywhere between $400-$800 face value, floor tickets were $300-$800, lower bowl was $200-$300, the upper bowl was $100-$200, and nosebleed seats were $50-$100. Of course, these prices depend on the venue and location, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up on finding cheap, close seats.

Unfortunately, it does not seem like Taylor will be using a Verified Fan system to be distributing tickets, which means it will be even harder to obtain affordable tickets to see Taylor. However, we can always hope she does another tour movie so we can all watch comfortably from our own homes, even if we cannot go in person.

Ultimately, there are a lot of different factors that go into a tour, many of which we can’t predict. But what we do know is Taylor always puts on a fantastic show, and this will be something you don’t want to miss!
