It’s freezing cold in Northwest Ohio and this weather can seriously impact your physical and emotional health. Personally, this weather often causes me to feel a little down in the dumps. I wanted to share ways to uplift yourself in this cold weather.

Hot Tea, I cannot stress this enough.

Tea helps with sore throats and it also helps warm you up. My personal favorites are earl grey and green tea. You can add some honey to help soothe a sore throat. Grab a cute, festive mug and you’re good to go.

Warm blankets and fuzzy socks.

There’s nothing that a little cozy plush or sherpa can’t help. After a long, stressful day put on a pair of fuzzy socks and curl up under a soft blanket. When it’s freezing outside, these cozy items can help you feel warm.

Light a Candle.

Candles set the mood and can make you feel cozy and warm, even when it’s cold outside. If you’re already in the mood for Christmas, a holiday-scented candle is perfect to light in your room (as long as you don’t live in a dorm).

Face Masks.

Face masks are a great way for you to unwind and feel better. If your skin is prone to becoming dry, the cold weather won’t help at all. I suggest finding a nice hydrating mask to combat dryness and keep your skin soft and smooth.

Warm Shower or Bubble Bath.

If you have a bath tub, put it to good use and take a warm bubble bath. This is a great way to unwind and you can use your favorite scented soap or body wash. Warm showers can also help you feel nice and warm after a long day.

Heating Pad.

If you have backaches or you feel sore when its cold outside, lying in bed with a heating pad on your back is a great way to alleviate pain. It’s also a nice way to stay warm after a cold day outside. Additionally, heating pads are amazing to help ease pain from cramps.
