Riley Green released his latest album, That’s Just Me, on Friday, September 18th. Half of these songs are about a breakup or directed at a past partner, while the rest of the album is made up of songs that are reminiscent of small town life and previous releases. All of the songs on this album have released lyric videos on YouTube (released on September 21 2026). A music video for “Think As You Drunk” was released on July 9th. Four songs have named featured artists, but a fifth song has Toby Keith’s vocals from “As Good As I Once Was”.

Exclusives
“My First Everything (Acoustic)” on the iTunes Store, this song was previously released on Riley’s “Different ‘Round Here” album and the acoustic has been teased since 2024 online.
“Hurt Like Her” is exclusively bought at Target.
“Another Dirt Road” is exclusively bought at Walmart.
“She Wrecked Me” is an Amazon Original which is not available without purchase of the CD or vinyl.
I was able to listen to “She Wrecked Me” on Amazon Music, however, I could not find any of the other full songs anywhere, except for “My First Everything” (non-acoustic) which is a previously released song. These songs have been teased online in short snippets by Riley Green. However, since it is not the full song, I am unable to rank “Hurt Like Her” and “Another Dirt Road” compared to the released songs album on YouTube, Apple Music, and Spotify.

My Rankings
A lot of these songs sound like his previous songs, which I wasn’t the biggest fan of. I felt like this album lacked originality, it was tired and reused. However, some songs I did enjoy.
21. Ol’ Stray dog
This song wasn’t for me. I find this song sad and I would not listen to it on the regular.
My favorite lyrics:
“I spent half my life just running/And the other half getting home”
20. Don’t come any closer
This is the first song addressed to an ex on the list. I honestly wouldn’t listen to this song regularly.
My favorite lyrics:
“Unless you wanna fall in love all over/Don’t come any closer”
19. Got that from you
Another song addressed to an ex and about a breakup on the list.
My favorite lyrics:
“Back then I thought I was tough/’Til you tore out and left a cloud of dust”
18. go again ft. hannah mcfarland
The premise of the song isn’t my favorite. It’s simply about how each of them discuss they want to stay and “go again”.
My favorite lyrics:
“You can climb in that cab and catch that flight back to LA/We can shut the blinds, shut out the world/Lay in this damn bed all day”
17. seven second ride
This is a song about a breakup and reflecting about a past relationship. The comparison is from how long a relationship lasted and a short ride of a bull in a rodeo.
My favorite lyrics:
“And when it comes to coming close/Every cowboy knows/That a seven second ride never won no rodeo”
16. more of a man than me
Song about an ex. Discussing how the next guy is “more of a man” than he is because he is willing to lose the new ex.
My favorite lyrics:
“So, if you think you’re tough enough to watch her leave/You’re more of a man than me”
“Just when I thought I was ten feet tall and bulletproof/That girl showed me a kind of hurt I never knew”
15. lookout mountain ft. randy owen
Another song about an ex in a breakup.
My favorite lyrics:
“So, look out mountain there she goes/Where stops nobody knows/She might be halfway across the state/From here she looks so close/Look out heartbreak here I come”
14. p.o.s.
This song is so far up on my list because I giggle when I listen to it. It’s allegedly a response to “Who Hurt You” by Megan Moroney.
My favorite lyrics:
“So, go on and tell the world I’m good for nothing/But I bet there’s a girl out there that would love to put up with…”
13. well well whiskey ft. jake worthington
This is a classic honkytonk song and country song about alcohol.
My favorite lyrics:
“Well well Whiskey/Get me good and gone/Cause I could use an old friend/And a bottle to lean on”
12. that’s just me
Another song to an ex. The way he sings “damn, I think you’re gorgeous” and “damn, I want you bad” are reminiscent of past songs and “My Way” from this album.
My favorite lyrics:
“I can’t see any way out of this missin’ you/Hell that I’m going through/If you’re doin’ fine with your bottle of wine/Then baby let that telephone ring/Cause it’s just me”
11. imagine that
Yet another song to an ex on this album.
My favorite lyrics:
“Damn, I can’t believe that you picked up the phone/This late at night, I bet you’re wonderin’ what the hell I want/I just called to let you know that you’re the only always on my mind”
“Imagine there’s a four-wheel-drive/Waitin’ right outside/It’s ready to drive a thousand miles/Or just ride around a while/And imagine there’s a full moon/Shinin’ on a poor ol’ fool/Just ready to make things right”
“Imagine he’s sorry and missin’ you/And cussin’ that wasted time on/The things he did and he didn’t do/Hell, he’s barely gettin’ by”
10. think as you drunk
Loved that he included Toby Keith singing a line of “As Good As I Once Was” at the end. This song could be fun for when people are drinking or at a bar. It felt very silly and fun which I liked.
My favorite lyrics:
“But I ain’t as think as you drunk I am/Don’t pay no mind to this mountain of crushed up cans/No, I can’t say my CBA’s/I can sing you every song that jukebox plays/And I know I can’t stand or sit/But if I was hammered, could I dance like this?”
9. My way
This song reminds me of regret. It’s very much a play on “well if I had it my way”.
My favorite lyrics:
“If I had it my way/I’d be watching your eyes turn from brown to hazel right now/The way they did on the front-porch swing/When the sky turned red, watching the sun go down/There’d be a field full of fireflies”
“If I had it my way/I would blink, and we’d disappear somewhere, somehow”
“You’d call me up and say, “I need you now/And I can’t go another day.”/I’d say, “You’re all I ever think about/And I’d give anything to see your face.”/You’d say, “I miss you.”/I’d say, “I don’t know how much more I can take.”/You’d say, “I’m on my way.”/If I had it my way”
8. She wrecked me
This is an exclusive song, but it was so good. I wish it was on the actual released album.
My favorite lyrics:
“My boots and I were 6 foot 5/We were thinkin’ we were pretty tough/All it took was her hard right look/And I was fallin’ right in love, we were dancin’ slow/Going toe-to-toe, and I lasted for a couple rounds/Buddy, sure enough/I ended up in pieces on the ground”
“The years have rolled on by/But, ain’t changed a thing/With no makeup on, just standin’ at the kitchen sink/She still wrecks me, every day that girl wrecks me”
7. my first everything (acoustic)
This song was originally on Riley’s “Different ‘Round Here” album. It is much better sounding when acoustic.
My favorite lyrics:
“I got lost in your smile/I was flying down 59/And taking in every mile/That first time loving feeling”
“If I only get one first time/Well, lookin’ back, girl/I’m glad that you were mine”
“You were my first love/My first broken heart/That’s all you were to me/Just my first everything”
6. Ten Pairs Of Boots Ago
This song is currently trending on TikTok to where people post videos of them in boots growing up. I liked the storytelling element to this song. I also liked that it has the same beginning and end, like a full circle moment. One thing I didn’t care for was that there is a minute of only background music at the end.
My favorite lyrics:
“Eighteen met Jack and Coke/And tore off down that road/Heart head as them steel toes/Left under beds left cold”
“I was thinking “aww damn” in ‘em/Had to face God’s plan in ‘em/But I became a man in ‘em/Came full circle found my purpose”
“One pair of boots ago/Co-op with my four year old/I said leave room to grow/I know how that story goes”
5. pave all them red dirt roads ft. brooks & dunn
I loved the ending when Brooks & Dunn sing their chorus. This song has so many references to “Red Dirt Road” by Brooks & Dunn. Examples are below!
My favorite lyrics:
“It used to be a fenced-in pasture/Where grandpa used to drive a tractor/And where there used to be Johnson grass” (reference to “Johnson’s fence”).
“Where would me and Daddy split that six-pack?/The first beer I’d love to have back/Where I took that curve too fast/Put that Ford in that creek/And where would I have found that church pew/That helped me walk a line in work boots?/Or that small-town green-eyed girl/Who climbed up in that bench seat/And where the hell is a good ol’ boy gonna go/When they pave all them red dirt roads?” (reference to the chorus of “Red Dirt Road” and the “green-eyed-girl reference to “If It Wasn’t For Trucks” by Riley Green).
4. Beach Happy
I love the play on words of this song. It references “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”. This is a fun beach and summer song, perfect for vacation (especially after breaking up with someone).
My favorite lyrics:
“The sand’s the only thing on my ass/I don’t want her back/’Cause there’s no makin’ that beach happy”
“Hell, I brought the dog, she’s chasin’ a ball/She ain’t like her at all, she don’t run off on me/And I just saw a seagull land/I’m sunburned, workin’ on a tan/Therе’s a tiki cover band/And I can hear ’em sing, “Don’t worry/No, don’t worry, bеach happy”
3. Bartender in destin
This is another fun beachy song and would be a great song for vacations or summer.
My favorite lyrics:
“A boat anchor tattoo and a smile that makes my world stop/I couldn’t get enough, I held onto every second/Went on a beach-love-bender with a dive bartender in Destin”
2. runs in the family
I love that this song is about small town life and things that are commonalities between family members. My favorite line is the one that mentions the U.S. Navy; Go Navy, Beat Army always!
My favorite lyrics:
“Sister ran off with a dude from the Navy”
“As soon as we could walk, we could run a John Deere”
“Yeah, our roots run deep like the rivers down here”
“We run to the bar, we run our mouths/run real hard till our time runs out”
1. Radio road
This song is so small town and I enjoy that since I am from a rural area. Where I’m from we have two roads that are like radio road called “rollercoaster road” and “the enchanted forest”.
My favorite lyrics:
“It ain’t got a sign, but everyone knows/How to get to radio road”
“It’s gravel and dirt/lessons we learned to hold on/and how to let go/out there on radio road”
