Take the Trip: A Reflection of Music City

Joslyn Stauffer Student Contributor, Bowling Green State University
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bowling Green chapter and does not reflect the views of Her Campus.

If there is one thing about me that is common knowledge is that I love to travel. For a few years now, my aunt and uncle have offered to have me visit them in Nashville, Tennessee. Over Bowling Green’s fall break (October 5th and 6th), I decided to finally take the trip.

I had been to Nashville several times before as my aunt and uncle have lived there since I was young. The first was a trip with my grandparents to visit my Aunt and Uncle before they were married (summer, elementary school), the second was in 4th grade for their wedding (whole family trip, I was his best “man”), and the third was after their wedding around 6th grade with my grandparents. My aunt and uncle have told me several times to visit them since I’m now in college, however, I never took them up on their offer. I felt as though it was time to visit.

In my past visits to Nashville, I not only attended my aunt and uncles wedding, but I also have watched “Shakespeare in the Park” at Centennial Park, toured backstage at the Ryman, and visited the Adventure Science Center and the Nashville Zoo. Now that I’m older I wanted to visit other places in Nashville that were more suited for adults.

Money Breakdown

If you were to do everything I did and ate the exact same thing as me in your Nashville trip then it is estimated that you would spend a total of $428.26. However, if you decided to buy drinks at Chiefs or other Broadway bars then expect to add an extra $10-50 tab minimum, depending on your drinking habits.

Tips for your trip

If you are from Ohio and live in the Eastern Standard Time (EST), then remember that Nashville is a one hour behind in time due to it being in the Central Daylight Time (CDT)!

If you want to party and bar-hop in downtown Broadway then I would suggest staying in a downtown hotel to avoid paying for parking.

Try Dutch Bros! My go to order is a mocha freeze!
