Halloween is fast approaching, so I’m sure you have your costume picked out- oh? You don’t? Well, no offense, but you must be a master procrastinator… I really thought you were working on that… Well, I guess I can help. Let’s covper some last minute costume ideas for you and your friend group trio! Did I mention you have really bad timing?

So, you don’t have a costume picked out… AND you’re in a trio friend group? That makes this a little tricky, but thankfully, I am pretty good at working under pressure. Well, I guess you came to the right person! I’ll whip you up a list of costumes for 3x the charm, so you and your friends can be ready in time for the (objectively) best holiday! Don’t say I never did anything for you…

The Powerpuff Girls

If you were a Cartoon Network kid like me, you are probably familiar with The Powerpuff Girls. One of my all-time favorite trios, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, take the first spot on this list! This costume is perfect for a trio looking to coordinate last minute, and has a lot of potential for inspiration! With easy color coordination, and a lot of room for flexibility (and bare essentials), here is the breakdown for each Powerpuff girl.

  • Blossom (the self-proclaimed leader): Pink dress or shirt/skirt combo, black belt, pink bow, white knee high socks, black loafer shoes, pink accessories of your choice!

  • Bubbles (the sensitive-sweet sister): Blue dress or shirt/skirt combo, black belt, pigtails with blue scrunchies, white knee high socks, black loafers, blue accessories of your choice!

  • Buttercup (the toughest sister): Green dress or shirt/skirt combo, black belt, no accessory or green headband, white knee high socks, black loafers, green accessories of your choice!

Check out the “Powerpuff Girls” section of my inspiration board for inspo pics for this costume!

Three Blind Mice

If you already have black sunglasses, you’re part of the way there for this one! Congrats! If you’re looking less for an individualized theme like with the Powerpuff girls, but a highly coordinated costume, the three blind mice route may be your go-to! With easy coordination and a cute, mousy twist, the three blind mice are perfect for a group looking to leave no doubt that their trio is, in fact, a trio. Here are two potential routes to take for the three blind mice costume.

  • White theme: white dress or shirt/skirt combo, white gloves, white canes, white boots/heels, white mouse ears headband, white accessories of your choice!
  • Black theme: black dress or shirt/skirt combo, black gloves, black canes, black boots/heels, black mouse ears headband, black tights, black accessories of your choice!

Take a look at the “Three Blind Mice” section of my Pinterest board for ideas on this trio costume!

The Garden Critters

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee… I guess you can make this three? Yes, you (well, I) sure can! While the classic saying may not typically fit a trio, since you’re already here, I might as well do the extra work. What you might call the “garden critters classic” is perfect for the bug-loving trio looking to find their last minute group costume.

  • The butterfly: orange (monarch) or blue (blue morpho) top, black/jean skirt, black leggings or orange/blue thigh high socks, black boots/sneakers, coordinated headband, orange/blue/black accessories of your choice!
  • The bee: yellow top, black/jean skirt, black/yellow striped leggings, black boots/sneakers, coordinated headband, yellow/black accessories of your choice!
  • The ladybug: red top, black/jean skirt, polka dot leggings (black or white dots), black boots/sneakers, coordinated headband, red/black accessories of your choice!

Check out the “Garden Critters” section of the Pinterest board for more inspiration!

Rock, Paper, Scissors

Rock, Paper, Scissors, Costume! Not every group wants to be superheroes, mice, or bugs. If you are more of the crafty group, this one may be for you! Although a little more abstract and less… human (or animal/bug), the rock, paper, scissors costume is the perfect option for the crafty trio. So get your paper and scissors ready (and your rocks… I guess?), and get crafting!

Check out the “Rock, Paper, Scissors” section of my inspiration board for inspo pics for this costume!

Now that you have some ideas for your trio costume, I would probably text your group chat and get to work on that, if I were you. And pleeasseee don’t be picky, I spent a lot of time on this (and Pinterest) helping you out! Happy Halloween!
