Winter Weekend Wardrobe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bowdoin chapter.

This weekend, Bowdoin students across campus will be coming together to celebrate a Maine winter in its full glory through a revamped, historied ‘Winter Weekend’. Brought to us by BSG, the eBoard, and Bowdoin Student Activities, programs ranging from dog sledding to horse-drawn carriages with be offered throughout both days.

While the next few days will undoubtedly bring exciting events, the proper outfit is essential to staying warm and happy. Nothing ruins the mood more than uncontrollable shivering and runny noses. Luckily, conserving heat does not mean we have to throw our outfits to the wayside. Below are some wardrobe suggestions.

After all, we can and WILL look cute while maintaining proper body temperature!

Girly-girl:

For those of you who adore flowers and pink this is the outfit for you! Cream-colored winter wear is adorable and goes with all girly bright colors. White snow boots are also practical yet feminine.

Drama Queen:

Winter can’t hold back the drama queens! For those of you who are slightly more funky or urban, pairing shorts with tights is flirty and warm. For headgear, nothing says va va voom like big furry earmuffs.

Canada Goose Chiliwack Bomber Jacket (matchesfashion.com), LC Lauren Conrad Dot Pleated Shorts (kohls.com), FOGAL Black Velour Opaque Thigh-High Stockings (stylebop.com), Hunter Women’s Original Short Gloss Wellington Boots – Flame (allsole.com), Small Pave Hoop Earrings (juicycouture.com), ASOS Mongolian Earmuffs (asos.com)

Maine Casual:

This look is basically the Bowdoin uniform. I dare you to count how many people are wearing this exact outfit in Thorne on a snowy day. The answer is A LOT. It is a classic, it’s so cozy, and it screams the way life should be. Nothing better.

Preppy-Polished:

Bowdoin is not lacking in the preppy department. Rain boots are always an awesome alternative to clunky snow boots and vests eliminate some of that extra weight as well. Spice up any of these outfits with earrings – pearls for the prep of course!
