Wahoo you’re finally a part of the 21 and fun club, now time to grab some drinks right? Welcome to Bloomsburg or in this case from the perspective of someone who’s grabbing “a drink”, Boozeburg. The options of bars are quite varied but you have to keep in mind drink special. We’re living on a college budget aka the change we found underneath the couch earlier. Well whether you’re in the mood for some good wings or feeling lucky playing some ping, what does your bar choice say about you?
Good Old Days –
#TownieCentral. Although this is the place for local old men to go, Bloomsburg still knows how to bring a good time. Yuengs and wings on Wednesday are a hit and don’t forget the karaoke. “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey is a crowd favorite, no doubt about it. Grabbing a beer and good bar food with friends can never be turned down.
Hardware –
Once the alcohol hits- this is the place to be. With a DJ that plays good hits, including the throwbacks that reminds us of our younger years. This is where most of the crowd ends up after midnight. You have one last drink in your hand while bopping your head to “Sorry” by J. Biebs. Don’t forget the girls you make friends with while waiting ten minutes for the bathroom.
West End-
More leaning towards a “real-world” bar. This is where you head to for a casual drink after a long day. Trivia is always a fun way to unwind, but still work your brain. Get a team of good friends and bond over a couple of drinks. Pick up a pool stick and play a round or two, even if it isn’t in your top ten list of skills. Sometimes it’s nice just to chat and catch up with friends after a long week.
Capitol – You can never be disappointed by the drinks here. The deals are relatively cheap and if you make friends with the bartenders they’ll make sure to hook you and your girls up. You can double fist with a vodka cranberry on the dance floor before you make your way to Hardware. Capitol is the go-to bar in the beginning of the night. You can still hold conversations around the bar, but when your inner dancer is ready she can break out as she pleases.
