Thankful Today and Everyday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bloom U chapter.

You always hear people talking about what they are thankful for during the around Thanksgiving. But shouldn’t we be thankful every day for all the wonderful things we have? Being thankful is often overlooked during the rest of the year unless something bad happens or we have those that was close moments. I personally wake up every day and go through in my head of all the things I have to be thankful, it’s a great way to start off my day especially when you know it’s going to be a tough one. I am thankful for many things but here are some of the most important one.

1.       Education

Going to class may not be my favorite thing to do, but I am incredibly grateful that I have the opportunity to be able to get a higher education. A lot of the time school could seem like it’s never ending and could be sooooo overwhelming especially with it being the end of the semester but we need to realize there are people our age who would love to be our position who simple don’t have the resources to do so.

2.       Love

Do I really need to explain? Who doesn’t love, love? The feeling of being loved is like no other feeling in world. Being loved, loving someone or loving something is a thing we are all capable of so why not take advantage of it.

3.       My Health

So many of us take our good health for granted. When your healthy, your health rarely ever crosses you mind. Without good health is a lot harder to live a fulfilling life and you often miss out on the things you love to do and sometimes you aren’t here anymore to see those things anymore.

4.       Set Backs

Everyone has setbacks. Granted they seem to always happen at the worse time and you can’t help to think “why me” but we should be grateful for them. If we didn’t have them we would never learn from them and we would be less of the person that we are today.

5.       My friends

The people who really don’t have to put up with your BS but still do. So be thankful for them and the patience they have for you when you come crying to them for the millionth time over the same boy even though they tell you every time to be done with him.

6.        My Family

I am the most thankful for my family. Without my family I would never be able to get the education I am getting, know what true love is, have the healthcare that’s available to me bounce back as quick from my setbacks, or know that a true friend should be. They are the base of all the things I am grateful because without them I wouldn’t have these other five things to be thankful for.
