Throughout life, especially in college, you will experience stress and overwhelmingness. From classes, to homework/studying, work, internships, being active on campus, and trying to keep a social life, a student’s schedule can be hectic. All of the hours put into bettering your life can really take a toll on your mental and physical health. When I’m feeling really low and lost, I know that I need to find time to worship my Lord. What better way to remind yourself how blessed you are than praising Him and singing? Although singing is not one of my many talents, I will blast my gospel music and shout at the top of my lungs. Surprisingly I haven’t been kicked out of the residence hall yet. Here’s a list of 20 songs that uplift my spirit instantly when needed:

  1. Mary Mary-Shackles

  2. Tye Tribbett-Victory

  3. Hezekiah Walker-Grateful

  4. Marvin Sapp-The Best in Me

  5. Yolanda Adams-Open My Heart

  6. Mary Mary-Can’t Give Up Now

  7. Byron Cage-Presence of the Lord

  8. Koryn Hawthorne-Won’t He Do It

  9. Tasha Cobbs-Fill Me Up/Overdose

  10. Hezekiah Walker-God Favored Me

  11. Tamela Mann-Take Me to the King

  12. Israel & New Breed-You Are Good

  13. Charles Jenkins-My God is Awesome

  14. Marvin Sapp-Never Would’ve Made It

  15. Norman Hutchins-God’s Got a Blessing

  16. Tasha Cobbs ft. Kierra Sheard-Your Spirit

  17. Beyonce ft. Walter Williams Sr.-He Still Loves Me

  18. The Rance Allen Group-Something About the Name Jesus

  19. William McDowell-I Give Myself Away/Here I am to Worship

  20. Tamela Mann ft. Tiffany Evans, Terrell Carter & Cheryl Pepsii Riley-Father Can You Hear Me

The next time you’re feeling out of it, the next time you feel lost, the next time you cannot remember your purpose in life, give this playlist a listen. Take care of yourself and remember that you are blessed.
