How I Spent My Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Binghamton chapter.

Contrary to popular belief, Spring Break isn’t always a time to get away, get that natural tan you’ve been longing for, or lounge in the sand on a hot beach in Cancun. I mean, I would totally love to have all my breaks be this way, but unfortunatly my schedule this semester did not allow that. I, instead, got to stay indoors all week catching up on coursework and essays that were piling up and needed to be done. Yes, this wasn’t my dream vacation, but it honestly wasn’t horrible either.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to just go home. Believe me, I love school, but this semester’s been so busy and I just needed time to chill, study, and be with my family. And, I don’t think there is anything wrong with going home instead of a beautiful tropic island. It was also nice to spend a holiday home and see aunts and uncles and baby cousins. I  missed my kitties, so it was lovely having them to cuddle with while I studied my brains out in finance. There’s just something so relaxing about studying on your couch in the family room rather than the in the intense walls of your college’s library. It may not have been totally ideal, but it was a nice change of scenery.

I don’t plan on having all my future spring breaks end up like this one. But when time’s get tough, you gotta push through it. Yes, while I was on my couch with my head in my laptop, I was also scrolling through Instagram seeing all the fun my friends were having on their lovely warm getaways, but hey, my time will come. Meanwhile, I didn’t mind chilling with the fam and the cats. It happens.
