The leaves are slowing falling off the trees and the weather is getting chillier. The thrill of being back at school and away from our parents is dying down, and with that, the need to go out at night is dwindling. Not that we don’t all love fun nights out on State Street, but let’s be real: winter is coming and us college girls are getting lazier and cozier! When it’s time to take a break from going downtown, what’s more perfect or more appealing than the classic girls’ night in? Here are a few things you need to have the perfect girls’ night in this semester:

Snacks: An obvious necessity. What’s a night in with your friends without yummy snacks? Indulge yourself and head down to the ‘nowl to pick up some classic Bing goodies: those CIW milkshakes and fried mac and cheese bites we all love; the curly fries and freshly baked cookies from Hinman that we can’t resist. Of course, if you’re having frequent nights in with your girlfriends, switch gears and opt for healthier snacks from time to time, such as hummus with veggies, chips and salsa, or homemade chocolate covered strawberries!

Movies: I’m talking the classic chick flicks that every girl loves: Legally Blonde, The Notebook, The Devil Wears Prada, Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing, A Walk To Remember…I could go one forever because there’s nothing I love more than a good chick flick!!! These feel-good movies will make you laugh and cry.

Face Masks: A classic beauty regimen that’s fun to do with your girl friends! It’s always fun to get messy and creative while also improving the quality of your skin. Try: mashed up bananas for oily skin, mashed avocado for dry skin, and a yogurt/honey mixture for combination skin. Raw honey and rose petals are great for all skin types, if you have them on hand!

Just talk!: Us college girls are so busy during the week, with school work, jobs, clubs and meetings, that it is hard to spend time with our friends. Spending a girls’ night in is a great way to just sit back, relax, and catch up with each other. It is important to make time to spend with each other! Laugh with your friends and tell each other funny stories. You’ll be glad you did.
