5 Classics That Deserve Their Own Netflix Reboot

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Binghamton chapter.

These days, it seems like absolutely every TV show you loved when you were younger is being revived. With Fuller House coming back on February 26th after mixed reviews and the incredibly anticipated Gilmore Girls revival set to drop November 26th, everything old is new again! While riding this trend of reviving old hits, I can’t help but think of a handful of TV shows that might as well get their chance at a Netflix reboot as well.

  1. The O.C

Before there was Gossip Girl, 90210, and One Tree Hill, there was this classic teen show that had you humming “California” by Phantom Planet all day long. With the current popularity of bingeing Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage produced shows, it’s only a matter of time before The O.C becomes the new show to hit Netflix and why shouldn’t a revival follow suit? After that disappointing last season and turn of events, we need some redemption and who doesn’t want to know what Seth Cohen is up to and celebrate another Chrismukkah?

2. Zoey 101

Ok, hear me out on this. After the quick exit of this hit following Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy, we were left with a lot of questions. Did Zoey and Chase live happily ever after? What became of Stacey Dillsen? What ever happened to Nicole?  Especially after the bombshell release of the time capsule clip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0 BNsT tQI) I think we are all ready to return to Pacific Coast Academy.

3. Sabrina The Teenage Witch

This is one that there has been a lot of speculation about recently, as the past two years there have been frequent rumors about this reboot that have only been shut down. Even if it’s not in the works right now, who doesn’t miss Sabrina’s antics and Salem’s sass? Especially being in the Halloween spirit now, I think everyone would be excited for this reboot and maybe some magic can help make this a reality for next Halloween season.

4.All That

Was there anyone who didn’t grow up dying of laughter over skits like “Good Burger” and “Vital Information”? As all of the reboots are proving, the 90’s truly are all that right now and what better way to celebrate the 90’s than our generation’s own version of SNL? This would be a great way to not only get exposure to new fresh comedic talent but also maybe have some Amanda Bynes and Nick Cannon cameos. Yes please!

5. Greek ***BONUS**

Even though this ABC family (Sorry, Freeform) hit only ended 5 years ago, I think that has been plenty long enough and I am ready to see these loveable characters back on my TV (or Netflix) screen. Our lives need a lot more of Cappie’s smile, Rebecca Logan’s scheming, and Kappa Tau vs. Omega Chi rivalries. Lucky for us this is considered a bonus because rumor has it; Freeform has ordered a revival movie! Only time will tell if this actually pans out, but my fingers are definitely crossed.
