There’s nothing I love more than getting my nails done. Going to the nail salon is a dedicated time for me to treat myself and relax while also leaving with a killer set. I always look forward to changing up the length, trying out new shades, and even experimenting with designs. However, there’s always one part about getting my nails done that stresses me out: choosing the right shape.
I’m a firm believer that the shape of your nails can make or break your manicure. Your nail shape affects how your hands look and how you go about your daily tasks. Basically, there’s a lot of factors to consider when choosing a nail shape. After many years of going to the salon and trying out different shapes, here is what I think your nail shape says about you!
Round: No Funny Business
If you have round nails, you don’t have time for any funny business. Short, round nails are perfect for people who are constantly using their hands and can’t be slowed down by long extensions. I think round nails are perfect if you do a lot of typing on a regular basis and if you want a mani that you never have to worry about.
Square: Serving C*nt
If you opt for square nails, you’re hot and you know it. I think square nails are the perfect happy medium between a simple, round set and long, flashy nails. Square nails give off the impression of “I might be wearing sweats right now, but I’m still serving.” Pop off, queen!
Stiletto: Mob Wife
The ‘mob wife’ aesthetic is taking the fashion world by storm. Characterized by faux fur, gold jewelry, cheetah print, and bold lips, I think stiletto nails are the perfect shape to pair with this growing trend. Stiletto nails scream bad b*tch and let people know that you know your worth. In other words, never mess with a girl with stiletto nails.
Almond: Model Off Duty
My favorite nail shape is almond! Almond nails are the child of round and stiletto nails in the sense that almond nails are longer and more pointed than round nails without coming to a sharp tip like stilettos. I love almond nails because they make me feel sophisticated and chic. With tons of celebrities rocking this nail shape – like Hailey Bieber – almond nails give off a ‘model off duty’ vibe.
Coffin: I’m Just a Girl
If you like coffin nails, I just know that you have a shopping and iced coffee addiction. Coffin nails really channel the “I’m just a girl” energy that’s been taking over TikTok and Instagram. Characterized by a long length that gradually tapers to a square tip, coffin nails are really good at making your fingers look longer and making your hands look like they’re out of commission. I would never ask someone with coffin nails to wash the dishes or take out the trash – their nails are just too beautiful! Instead, coffin nail girlies are the designated passenger princess in the group whose love language is acts of service.
