If you’re like me, you’re excited to go home for Thanksgiving break! I can’t wait to spend time with my family and friends. Here are several festive activities that you can enjoy with your friends and family!

Idea #1: Binge Watch Thanksgiving Episodes from popular shows

After traveling from your college to your hometown, relax with friends and family. Watch Thanksgiving-themed episodes from your favorite shows to get excited for the holiday! Wrap up in cozy blankets and make popcorn to share. Thanksgiving episodes from popular shows include:

  • Friends
  • The Office
    • “Unofficial Thanksgiving episode: WUPHF.com” – Season 7, Episode 9
  • Gilmore Girls
    • “A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving” – Season 3, Episode 9
  • It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia
    • “The Gang Squashes Their Beefs” – Season 9, Episode 10
  • How I Met Your Mother
    • “Slapsgiving” – Season 3, Episode 9
  • New Girl
    • “Parents” – Season 2, Episode 8

Idea #2: DO A Local 5k or Turkey Trot

Get active this Thanksgiving break by inviting friends and family to run a 5K or Turkey Trot! These races take place during the fall season and on Thanksgiving day. Take pictures as everyone crosses the finish line and after, get lunch or breakfast at a local restaurant to refuel. Brag to your family on Thanksgiving day about your athletic ability!

Idea #3: Go Thrifting for fall sweaters

Prepare your fall wardrobe by thrifting for cozy sweaters. Research thrift stores near you then sift through the racks with your friends to find the perfect sweater! Make sure to wash your sweaters before wearing them, but wear them the next time your friends see each other! To be a true Gen-Z member, stop at a local coffee shop for pumpkin spice lattes or iced chai lattes after shopping.

Idea #4: Go on a scenic Hike

Go on a hike with friends and family to enjoy fall’s beautiful scenery! Research the local area’s hiking trails. Bundle up in thick socks (to protect yourself from ticks) and a jacket to stay warm outdoors. While on the hike, watch the beautiful red and orange leaves fall from the trees. Make and bring fall-inspired trail mix to snack on! Be sure to take group pictures at different locations on the hike (you will appreciate these pictures when you miss your friends and family in college)!
