While I can’t speak for other collegiettes, I had an amazing time watching the Super Bowl this past Sunday. Great friends, an exciting game, and most importantly, great food! When picking what I was going to bring to the get-together I attended, I didn’t want to be that girl that shows up with something silly like Capri Sun, a bag of veggie chips, or something vegan that the crowd at large wouldn’t enjoy. Though I love celery or tofu as much as the next person, these snacks just don’t hold a place on Super Bowl Sunday. Not bringing something greasy and unhealthy to a football party is like bringing Chinese takeout to Thanksgiving.

So, in honor of one of my favorite “holidays” of the year, here are the top five Super Bowl foods that worked best this past Sunday!

1. Buffalo Chicken Dip (Recipe from Homecooking.about.com)

2. Homemade salsa & guacamole (Recipe from Simplebites.net)

3. Chocolate covered strawberry footballs

4. Pepperoni and cheese stuffed bread (Recipe from smells-like-home.com)

And last but not least….

5. Football themed cupcakes. Even if you mess them up and they taste horrible, at least they’re nice to look at.  (Recipe from tasteofhome.com)
