With less than a week until Christmas, it is officially the holiday season—which means playing Christmas music non-stop and enough holiday cheer to go around. For me, this also means watching as many Christmas movies and specials as I can before Christmas arrives. If you can’t decide what you want to watch or need some ideas, here are my top 10 Christmas movies and specials:

10.)  The Santa Clause

This is a movie that I don’t always think of right away, but it has a great plot and gets me in the Christmas spirit every time I watch it.

9.)  ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

This special may not be widely known, but it’s a classic with a story that brings me back to reading the story ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas during childhood; it’s another special my family always comes together to watch.

8.)  How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Whether it be the cartoon version or live action one, the story of the Grinch is one that is always intriguing to watch, and always has me laughing with the different scenarios the Grinch brings up.

7.)  The Polar Express

The storyline, characters, and soundtrack all completely immerse me into the night of Christmas Eve during this movie, and puts me back into a time with more magic.

6.)  Prep and Landing

This is a special that is more recent, but nonetheless in just a half hour you are engulfed in the world of Christmas; you’ll immediately want to rewatch it and try to catch the sequel, as I always do.

5.)  Frosty the Snowman

This is a classic that everyone needs to watch at least once during this Christmas season, as it is always near the top of my list whenever the Christmas season comes about.

4.)  Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

A classic Christmas special—and maybe one of the most well-known—it always intrigues me and will never get old.

3.)  Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town

This is one of my favorite specials, and with it you get all the information you need on how Santa came to be—along with a soundtrack that I find myself singing along to whenever I watch it.

2.)  A Year Without a Santa Claus

This is a classic Christmas special—one that my family all enjoys and watches together every Christmas season—that reminds me of my childhood.

1.)  Elf

This move has been one of my favorites for as long as I can remember. With the humor and heart-warming story, I find myself watching it whenever it is on.

Native New Yorker Brooke Camarda has had her eclectic share of jobs—from the runways of NYFW to the haunted hallways of NYZ Apocalypse. Commonly known by her alter ego of Wonder Woman, there's no task or adventure that the skydiving-enthusiast isn't willing to take on. She loves typography and cappuccinos almost as much as she loves her (very) big family, and is thrilled to be writing for Bentley University's chapter of Her Campus.
