Her Campus Bentley (HCB): What year did you graduate from Bentley?
Class of 2013! Just passed the 4 month anniversary of being officially done. YIKES!
HCB: What was your major and/or minors?
Major: Marketing
Minor: Literature
HCB: Where did you start working after graduation?
I’m working at C. Wonder as one of the managers. It’s a new women’s apparel/accessories/home store originally based out of New York which was founded in 2011 by Chris Burch (co-founder of Tory Burch.)
HCB: Do you like your job/where you work? What is something you like most?
Sometimes it’s tough because retail hours aren’t 9-5 and I think I’m missing out. However, I know that the experience I’m getting will pay off since I’m paying my dues when the company is so up-and-coming.
The best thing about my position is that since it’s the first store near Boston, I literally “built” it from start to finish. Everything from unpacking inventory, to creating all of the visual merchandising. It was really rewarding to see it go from an empty store front to a fully functioning, successful store!
HCB: What activities/committees were you involved in on campus?
CAB was my BIG activity during my four years. I was the “Concerts” co-chair. And of course Her Campus when I had time! :)
HCB: What are your top 5 memories from college?
-BAHAMAS!
-Semester abroad
-Planning my first SD concert sophomore year
-Freshman move-in
-The moment of shear relief I had after handing in my GB 320 project (and not even having to pull an all-nighter!)
HCB: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I hope to be a Buyer for some fabulous retailer (perhaps still C. Wonder,) traveling the world, choosing and negotiating for the items that will appear in all of the stores!
HCB: What do you miss most about being at Bentley?
I miss seeing all my friends, all the time. Even seeing them now on the weekends, it’s not the same. I’m looking for an apartment with my old roommates but it will be weird to not be able to walk down the hall and see 20 other people we know/hang out with. People complain that Bentley’s a “bubble,” but it’s a really great community that you’ll miss a lot.
HCB: What are three words that describe you?
Outgoing
Driven
Positive
HCB: Do you still keep in touch with your friends from college?
YES! I’m currently writing this as I wait to get dinner with one before we go and meet up with about 5 other 2014 grads!
HCB: What advice would you give graduating seniors?
It’s important to work hard but it’s also important to have fun. Senior year can be stressful with grades, jobs, and capstones, but make time for all the other stuff. It’s cliché but you really won’t remember the exam you studied all night for BUT you will remember the one you and your roommates all went to Hong Kong for midnight dinner (and drinks…..!)
