Has anyone else been stuck on Sunday Roast TikTok? I know I have. So my roommate and I decided to give it a shot. Warning: it took us 3 HOURS to finish cooking this meal but it was absolutely worth it.

We started off by making a whole chicken and let me tell you, it was intimidating because it was my first time roasting a whole chicken. However, with the help of my parents and TikTok recipes I was able to cook it to almost perfection with the right seasonings. The most brutal part was massaging the raw chicken but we gots to see it through. After that, we made the crispiest potatoes that also took 2 hours to finish by boiling it, putting it in the heated oil and then tossing each 30 minutes in the oven. Then we topped off with some roasted veggies like parmesan brussel sprouts and asparagus. Those only took 20 min to finish by tossing some olive oil and popping it into oven.

Why are those the most underrated veggies. If you season them right and make sure it is cooked thoroughly it goes so well with the softness of the chicken and stuffing. So make sure to eat your veggies!! By the time 3 hours were over, my roommate and I had the most beautiful colorful dish of flavors and nutrition. I paired it with a nice red wine (make sure you’re of age) that helped enhance the flavors of the dish.

Don’t be intimidated by cooking a large dish it is awfully therapeutic and gave the opportunity for me and my roommate to bond and work together. We decided we are definitely doing something like this again even with the tiny oven we have in our dorm. We even had left overs for two more meals for each of us!!!

If you took the time to read this article about food, take one thing away. Make that Sunday Roast because it is UNREAL ;) and show off to your family.
