After a long four-year wait, Steve Lacy finally released his fourth album this June, Oh Yeah? His previous album, Gemini Rights, has been trending on TikTok since its release and is generally considered his best album. Steve Lacy’s new album has a unique feel with the acoustic guitar and the conversational lyrics, but it still has that similar vibe to his older albums. One song that I feel really matches his older music is “Show You Me.” The lyrics of this song feels like a continuation of “I Think I Should” from the Lo-Fi’s. Overall, I would say Oh Yeah? is right up there with Gemini Rights as some of Steve’s best work. My ranking of the songs are:
- Nothing
- Show You Me
- The Feeling
- Doom
- Oh Yeah?
- Bebe
- Pure Colour
- Lovesexdrugbomb
- Is it cool?
- Nice Shoes / In Your World
