Stephanie’s Pinterest Picks of the Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bentley chapter.

Hi collegiettes! I’m back again with another week of my Pinterest Picks. Have you repined any of these? Let me know in the comment section below!

My first pick of the week comes from BuzzFeed where I discovered their article “37 Easy DIY No-Carve Pumpkin Ideas.” Not only do these great ideas save you from the potential hazards of pumpkin carving, they will help your pumpkins last longer! Pictured below is #29, the Melted Crayon Pumpkin, my personal favorite. I also love #1 The Glitter Pumpkin and #4 The Thumbtack Pumpkin. With Halloween just around the corner, I am sure that we will be doing at least one of these techniques to the pumpkins in our apartment. Have you done any cool pumpkin decorating, collegiettes?

The bloggers at Oh So Pretty: The Diaries share a tutorial on DIY Emi-Jay Inspired Hair Ties! Not only do these hair ties look super cute on your wrist, but they don’t leave creases! The tutorial at Oh So Pretty is incredibly easy to follow and the girls even share their secret on how to make sure the ends don’t fray. They even added links to where you can buy the elastic online. Warning: there is a lighter involved– please be careful collegiettes!

In my first of two food-related Pins, I bring you the Cupcake Pizza from Second Chance to Dream. This blog post is a list of “Back to School Sandwich-less Lunch Ideas” that are also perfect for college! I have done the Cupcake Pizzas twice now–using gluten free dough, of course! My first test was with buffalo chicken and my second was a white pizza with chicken and broccoli. This recipe is a great one to make on the weekend and then throw into the freezer to have during the week!

Balancing Beauty and Bedlam has blogged their “15 Fabulous DIY Jewelry Organizers” and I know we could all use them to avoid those annoying knots in our necklaces and missing pairs to earrings! There are some super cute ideas here for how to be creative in storing—and displaying!—your jewelry. I have small hooks attached to the side of my vanity that are holding my necklaces and bracelets. How do you store your jewelry, collegiettes?

This Pin is absolutely delicious! Last week was my roommate’s 21st birthday and because of her love for marshmallows and white chocolate, my other roommates and I decided to make her “Marshmallow Treat Pops” to celebrate with. Hostess with the Mostess shared her directions for making sure these pops come out perfectly.

We did our own variation on her recipe and used white chocolate instead of pink candy melts. We then separated the white chocolate into four bowls and used food coloring to make each a different color. We dipped each pop into two different colors and our result was tie-dyed marshmallows that my roommate loved! We ate them all and plan to make them again very soon!

I am a Bentley University senior majoring in Marketing with a LSM in Media, Arts and Society. I make gluten-free goodies all too frequently and my favorite place in the world is the top of a mountain with my skiis on. I have an addiction to chocolate, Alice in Wonderland and laughing with my roommates.
