She’s Just Being Miley

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bentley chapter.

Whether you watched the VMAs or not, you have undoubtedly heard about the hysteria surrounding Miley Cyrus’s new attitude. It all began with the video for “We Can’t Stop,” and it doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. However, let’s look at the bright side of what her new look has brought to us.

1)    “Wrecking Ball

Don’t even try to say you don’t know all the words by heart (we know it has become your new favorite driving jam-out song). It’s addicting. Who wouldn’t want to belt out the words??

2)    The “Wrecking Ball” Vines

Have you seen the kitten taking out the textbooks yet? If not, take 6 seconds (well, make it 18 because you’re going to want to watch it more than once) and enjoy the cuteness that is this little fluffball “Wrecking Ball”-ing its way through study hours.

3)    Waterproof mascara is no longer necessary!

As is seen in Miley’s cover of Rolling Stone Magazine, smudged mascara from a little dip in the pool can be a good thing. Lucky for the rest of us, that means we can stop fussing with the waterproof stuff that may be harder to get off than getting red wine out of the carpet. Check out the cover she posted on her Twitter page.

4)    LIAM HEMSWORTH IS SINGLE

Well, sorta. ENews is reporting (and they have paparazzi proof) that Liam has recently been seen with pop star Eiza González. I like to think it’s all an act to make Miles jealous. Let’s hope.

5)    Want to make a drastic change to your hair? Do it.

Now, at first, I was shocked to see the new hair. I mean, who wasn’t envious of Miley’s picture perfect locks? And then she shaved them off and went ice blonde? However, the more I look at it, the more I love it. She rocks the cut! Check out her before and after shots.

Am I saying she is a perfect role model? No. I’m just pointing out a few things she’s done to make our lives more interesting. But if twerking was no longer a thing, I wouldn’t mind. That’s something I won’t thank her for.
