Seriously Smitten: Valentine’s Day Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bentley chapter.

Pink, and sparkles, and hearts, oh my! Here’s a list of the eight festive products that should be on the top of your personal list this Valentine’s Day!

  1. Ban.do Heart Headband

I’m a fan of all of Ban.do’s unabashedly feminine pieces, but this sequined heart headband is particularly sweet. While it may seem a bit over-the-top to some, I think that it could be surprisingly wearable if styled the right way. And for those of you who are a bit weary of wearing such a bright accessory, it comes in gold too!

2. Pinhole Press Heart Stationary

We may not be in grade school anymore, but that doesn’t mean we’re too old to exchange valentines!  Everyone loves to receive good old-fashioned snail mail, and this personalized stationery from Pinhole Press would be perfect for writing notes to the ones you love!

3. OPI “Sweetheart” Nail Polish

Though I tend to wear darker polishes in the winter, the unseasonably warm weather has inspired me to sport some lighter, springy hues this February! This polish is the prettiest rosy-pink shade and the name, “Sweetheart,” is very appropriate for the upcoming holiday!

4. Kate Spade “Be Mine” Studs

Kate Spade is known for its vibrant, colorful designs, so these mini heart studs are unexpectedly subtle. They would add the perfect touch of flirtiness to any outfit and could be worn well past Valentine’s Day!

5. Tom’s Pink Glitters

This sparkly twist on the classic Tom’s shoe is great for the fashionable and socially conscious shopper. For every pair of Tom’s you purchase, the company will give a new pair of shoes to a child in need. What a great way to spread the love this holiday!

6. Fred Flare Heart Shaped Sunglasses

I’m sure many of you Collegiettes™ had a pair of these quirky glasses as a child, and I’m happy to say that they’re making a comeback! Celebs like Drew Barrymore and Katy Perry have also been spotted sporting heart-shaped shades.  It would definitely require someone with a certain joie de vivre to rock these around campus, but if you’re looking to push your style boundaries, go for it!

7. J. Crew Toothpick Jean in Bright Papaya

I can’t think of any better way to kick the winter blues than with a pair of playful pink jeans, like these cropped ones from J. Crew. The colored denim trend has grown on me as I’ve seen more and more girls wearing them at Bentley, and Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to finally pull the trigger and purchase a pink or red pair! To see some other bright hues you can try this season, as well as how to style them, check out this Her Campus article.

8. MadeByGirl “Love” Print

This print from the online shop MadeByGirl may be simple, but I find it to be completely swoon-worthy. For you Collegiettes™ who are looking to add a pop of color to your room, this is a great option! The print comes in ten shades, so no worries if this candy watermelon hue doesn’t match your dorm décor! I personally love the metallic silver, as well.
