Winter is finally here, and we all know what that means… SNOW! There are many things that you can do on a snow day: read a book, online shop, drink hot chocolate, take a nap, make snow angels, have a snowball fight, attempt to sled down the Smith stairs (okay, that’s probably not the best idea). However, no snow day is complete without snuggling up in bed and having a little Netflix & Chill session (the chill being the snow piling up outside your dorm).

Here’s a list of my favorite shows that are currently on Netflix. Although you probably won’t be able to watch a whole series in one day, you can definitely get a head start! Make sure to take some breaks in between your binge-watching sessions— you don’t want to end up like this:

Shows:

1. Friends: This hit sitcom is based in 1990’s Manhattan and follows six 20-something year old best friends in their struggle to find success and happiness in life. This show has it all: sidesplitting humor, sob provoking emotion, and of course… DRAMAAA!!! This is a must-see series for EVERY college student. Friends=LIFE.

2. How I Met Your Mother: In this unique sitcom, Ted Mosby tells his daughter and son the story of how he met his wife (their mother!). The story details the crazy antics of Ted and his five best friends in NYC while he is on the quest to find “The One.” Each episode builds upon details from previous ones, so it’s best to watch the nine seasons in order.

3. Grey’s Anatomy: This incredibly popular medical drama follows the tumultuous lives of intern (and eventual resident) Meredith Grey and her fellow doctors at a Seattle hospital. This incredibly well-written show has an extremely talented cast that has a tendency to pull you into the story and make you think that you are one of the doctors. **WARNING: This series is highly addictive, so make sure that you have time to become fully immersed in the Grey’s lifestyle for ELEVEN seasons!!! It’s totally worth it, but it can be very time consuming.

4. Scandal: This Shonda Rimes drama focuses on a powerful team of D.C. lawyers who will do anything in their power to make scandals disappear while simultaneously handling government crises and their own various (scandalous) romantic entanglements. Before you know it, you’ll be asking yourself “What Would Olivia Pope Do?” any time you have to make a decision.

5. Parks & Rec: Leslie Knope’s never-ending energy and incurable optimism will have you hooked from the start. I mean, who doesn’t love Amy Poehler? The show wouldn’t be complete without the rest of the crazy cast, of course!

6. New Girl: This series follows the shenanigans of three single guys and their new, adorable, eccentric roommate, played by Zooey Deschanel. You won’t be able to resist the hilarious chemistry between these roommates and their absolutely ridiculous adventures.

7. Young & Hungry: Emily Osment stars as the personal chef of a young tech tycoon and faces various romantic and culinary challenges. This comedy will have you laughing so hard that your roommate may get annoyed… you may want to warn them before you start watching!

8. One Tree Hill: In this popular nine season teen drama, half brothers Lucas and Nathan Scott alternate between friendship and rivalry on the basketball court and among their friends. This drama-filled series will have you crying and laughing and everything in between.

9. Gossip Girl: This series follows the scandalous lives of privileged teenagers living on the Upper East Side as they deal with having all of their secrets revealed by Gossip Girl, a ruthless and mysterious blogger. The rollercoaster romances and luxurious, drama-filled lives of these Upper East Siders will make you wish that you led a more glamorous lifestyle while also teaching you to appreciate the little things. I guarantee that you will be hooked as soon as you start the first episode, so good luck! XOXO, Gossip Girl.

10. Scrubs: This quirky comedy revolves around the lives of a group of physicians who practice both mischief and medicine while also learning some important life lessons.

Happy Netflix & Chill-ing!
