One of my favorite things about Bentley is the variety of clubs and organizations on campus! With over 100 student groups to join, there is truly something for everyone at Bentley. Here are some of my favorite organizations and the events that they hold!

Bentley Asian Students Association

This is just a little bit biased because I’m on their E-Board, but one of my favorite organizations on campus is the Bentley Asian Students Association. The Bentley Asian Students Association “strives to promote Asian culture and cultural understanding within the Bentley community” and they hold events throughout the semester like Bubble Tea Chat and Roll with the Differences! Their events vary from yummy Asian foods to conversations about DE&I. Their biggest event is Asian Night Market, where they get food catered from a bunch of different Asian cuisines and have live performances from some of Bentley’s dance groups!

South Asian Student Association

The South Asian Student Association is another one of my favorite identity and advocacy organizations! The South Asian Student Association “aims to increase awareness of the rich and vibrant cultures of countries including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan by providing social and educational experiences.” My favorite event of theirs is Diwali! Diwali is a traditional Indian holiday which is celebrated with a festival of lights. The South Asian Student Association celebrates Diwali by putting on a show in the Bentley Arena complete with skits and dancing! It’s always one of the biggest events of the fall semester!

Bentley Hillel

Bentley Hillel is the Jewish organization on campus and they hold a lot of fun events for the Jewish community at Bentley! Bentley Hillel’s goal is to “bring Jewish students together to celebrate and form greater connections with our faith.” I attended their Friday shabbat as part of a research project for one of my sociology classes and Rabbi Foust as well as the other members welcomed me with open arms despite the fact that I am not religious. Some of their events include Yom Kippur celebrations, Shabbat dinners, and Dinner in the Sukkah!

Off the Clock

Off the Clock is the place to go to if you wanna hear some great singing! Off the Clock is an a cappella group “filled with motivated students who love to sing and do business at the same time!” My favorite event that Off the Clock holds is Pub Night, where they showcase all the songs they’ve been working on all semester, as well as some of their soloists. I love seeing how talented my peers are – especially at a school where we are (usually) strictly business.

Alpha Psi Omega

Alpha Psi Omega is known on campus for their amazing productions! Alpha Psi Omega’s goal is to “bring exciting and hilarious theatre productions to Bentley’s campus and encourage students to be more engaged in the arts here.” This past semester they put on the musical The Drowsy Chaperone. This show was incredibly funny and the cast was extremely talented! Once again, it’s amazing to see what my peers can do on stage!

What organizations are you in, and what organizations do you want to be more involved in?

Hi everyone! My name is Banmai Huynh and I am from Chelmsford, MA. I'm a Corporate Finance and Accounting major at Bentley University in Waltham, MA and I’m the President of our Her Campus Chapter. I joined Her Campus because I think it's a great creative outlet for college students. I like writing about my personal experiences, opinions, and recommendations! Thanks for reading!
