I had the pleasure of interviewing Liz Sisson, one of my favorite upperclassmen. Her contributions to Bentley will far outlast her time here, and she is someone whom Iâm incredibly proud to call a peer.

HC: How do you keep your academic, extracurricular, and social life balanced?
LS: Itâs really a matter of time management and prioritization, as clichĂ© as that sounds. I lay out my days in my calendar, and Iâm always aware of when Iâll have a busy day or some down time. I honestly plan everything down to my nap time around that Outlook calendar. With that, the more I have on my plate, the better I tend to do academically. An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion.
HC: What did you wish you knew when you were a freshman?
LS: Embrace the unknown. I think the âunidentifiedâ is so intimidating to people in todayâs society, especially students who are driven and are always used to âknowing what they want to do.â Because of that fear, I think people tend to settle. Be proactive with the unknown- join an organization you donât know anything about, take a class with a subject matter that you wouldnât normally take, talk to someone outside your traditional group of friends. Thereâs a lot to be learned in these short four years of college that you wonât necessarily study in a textbook, you just need to find out what those things are.
Â
HC: What Bentley experience stands out as the most significant to you?
LS: Joining PRIDE. I have literally gotten to know some of the best people on this campus (in my opinion) in that Res Life room above Campus Police (on Wednesdays at 8pmâŠ.) It took me a bit to realize it, but joining PRIDE has been a life changing experience for me. Itâs helped me discover so much about myself, and about others who support such organizations, that Iâll be forever grateful for.
Â
HC: What are you planning to do after graduation?
LS: The dreaded senior question, what do I want to do after graduation? At our Senior meeting the other day, we were told âdo something you love, not something youâre necessarily good atâ and I know thatâs what Iâll do after graduation⊠something that makes me happy, Iâm just not 100% sure what that will be. Check back in a couple of months!

Liz has recently been nominated for the âMost Famous Student in Bostonâ by Bostinnovation. (Vote for her here!) She is certainly famous here on campus, and is known by freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors alike. I, along with the HC Bentley staff, would like to wish Liz all the best in her senior year and future endeavors!Â
