Getting Sick for the First Time in College, As Told by Parks and Rec

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bentley chapter.

One of the most dreaded moments every school year is getting sick in the fall. It’s happened to all of us. It’s even more challenging when it’s your first year in college. Getting sick at college for the first time is way different than getting sick at home. Here are some of the thoughts that you have when you’re sick at college for the first time.

I can’t believe I caught Treebola!

I did not bring enough tissue boxes or cough drops to college.

I need my mom.

Do I have to go the Health and Wellness Center?

Oh great, there are no appointments available at the Health and Wellness Center.

I’m pretty sure the Smith Stairs grew twice their size.

Is it okay to take another nap?

Do I have to go to my GB group meeting?

Will I ever be able to breathe out of my nose again?

If I get my roommate sick, will she ever talk to me again?

I should go to bed but I don’t want to miss anything!

I don’t know what it’s like to be at college and not be sick.

Why me????

Special thanks to Emma and Rose for helping me when I’m sick.
