George Clooney Weds, Moms Everywhere Cry

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bentley chapter.

Much to the dismay of Stacy Keibler, Elisabetta Canalis, and moms everywhere, the ultimate single guy George Clooney has finally wifed up one lucky lady.

Clooney and British-Lebanese human rights lawyer, Amal Alamuddin, tied the knot in a three-day celebration weekend on the water in Venice, Italy (roughing it…). The couple had what People Magazine called an “intimate ceremony” at the Aman Canal Grande Resort. To give you an idea of the digs, rooms start at $1,000 per night for a basic room, with a suite running you a bill of around $5,100 per night.

Speaking of bills, according to the magazine, the tab for the three-day party was right around 1.6 million USD, in part due to the reception and the other activities that took place at the wildly luxurious Belmond Hotel Cipriani. (Pictured below)

As for the reception, British DJ, Sam Young, kept everyone on the floor dancing – especially Clooney. Guests also sipped on the 300 cases of top shelf Casamigos Tequila, the brand owned by Flooney himself. Among those on the guest list were famous faces Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso, Cindy Crawford, Bono, Bill Murray, Anna Wintour, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, and Oceans 13 co-star, Ellen Barkin.

Sorry moms, the Cloones is now officially taken.
