Easy Ways to Glam Up Your Fit

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bentley chapter.

Tired of wearing the same-old same-old to class? Same here. When that college student budget has you feeling like you have nothing to wear, try to think of how you can spice up what you usually wear. Here are some easy ways to amp up your outfit!

  • Wear cool rings – I love acrylic ones because they never turn my fingers green!
  • Try out a new hairstyle! I’ve been loving slicked back buns, ponytails, and braids.
  • Switch out your backpack for a big purse or tote bag!
  • Spray on some of your favorite perfume! Now you look good, smell good, and feel good!
  • Paint your nails – throwing on some polish can make your look more polished!
  • Make small alterations to your outfit. This might involve tucking or cropping a shirt, rolling the hem of your pants, or cutting a slit in your jeans. Sometimes these quick fixes can be the perfect way to freshen up your look!
  • Do your makeup – nothing makes me feel more confident than a flawless face.
  • Layer! Especially with the colder weather, layering adds dimension to your look. I love pairing hoodies and puffers, scarves and sweaters, and sunglasses and tees.
  • Borrow something from a friend! Sometimes wearing someone else’s clothes makes me feel like a brand new person myself. Ask your roommate or best friend if you can borrow a certain top of theirs that you’ve loved on them in the past, and rock it yourself!
  • Use your belongings to your advantage. Sometimes all a look is missing is a water bottle in hand or some headphones around your neck. Little personal items can make an outfit feel more functional and more lived in – so don’t be afraid to flaunt your things and make it part of your look!
