Let’s face it, as girls, we have an innate love of shopping! Many college girls love spending their time, aside from studying, either in a mall or online buying new clothing and accessories to match the latest trends. However, while attending college, many of us have funds that are extremely limited. Moreover, college girls need to budget and when it comes to shopping, designer tags aren’t always a smart option.
A big trend this fall is rocking a vest around campus. A popular seller this season is the classic J. Crew Excursion Vest: with its gold hardware and quilted pattern, this vest is a must have for the fall season. The vest is down; light, and compact, so it will keep you warm, while also looking stylish. Varying in four different colors: chartreuse, ivory, navy (my personal favorite) and black, each can suit any look you would like to have this fall! This vest looks great styled with flannels, chunky sweaters, or even just a plain white t-shirt! It is extremely versatile in styling and is essential for your wardrobe!
However, as much as I love this vest, it has a hefty price tag of $120. So, like any other bargain shopper, I searched around for a look alike, and after some late night browsing, found a vest from Old Navy that is almost identical!
The Old Navy vest has a similar quilted pattern and the same gold hardware, with slightly different pocket styles, but nonetheless, still very similar! The Old Navy version offers different colors, including: black, ivory, forest green, and coral. The main difference between this vest and J.Crew’s, is that this one is not down. While this vest may not keep you as warm as J.Crew’s, you will be saving yourself a whopping $80 (Old Navy’s price: $34.94). Girls who are always vying over expensive designer brands, start doing your research so you can stay within your budget!
